READER'S CUP 2018 📖

Last week, Nicole, Dylan, Molly, Chloe and I were finally able to attend the Reader's Cup 2018 at the Riccarton Public Library.

We had been reading all the books for the past two terms so we were super excited to be able to go.

My favourite book from the competition had to be One by Sarah Crossan. It had a unique writing style that I enjoyed reading - it was like a book of poetry!
I had a least favourite book (or two) of course. It was a challenge having to read all these fantasy books that I didn't really enjoy but I ended up reading them all.

So we arrived at the library and were seated in a conference room with about eight other schools - Middleton Grange, Riccarton High, Villa Maria etc, and we got started right away.
It became very clear that the questions were more based on specific facts about the book rather than themes and events. We got a lot of questions wrong because of this, but we have something to work on for next time if we do it.

In the end we tied last place with Villa Maria. We didn't have any idea of what this competition would be like which didn't improve our scores anyway.

Overall we did have a really fun time anyway, it's definitely something I would like to do next year.
